Out 2 Lunch 2025
On the 3rd and 4th of May, Fisher’s Out 2 Lunch Festival returned to the Gold Coast for its second year — and what a weekend it was. Set at the Broadwater Parklands, the festival was a vibrant, rain-soaked, joy-fuelled spectacle that brought 30,000+ fans together for two unforgettable days of world-class electronic music, surprise moments, and community spirit.
When the gates to Out 2 Lunch Festival opened on Saturday, so did the skies. The rain came in bursts, switching "on and off like a tap," drenching Broadwater Parklands and transforming the festival site into a sea of slick surfaces and poncho-covered punters. But instead of gloom, it sparked grit and camaraderie, as volunteers broomed water off ground cover pads and the crowd leaned into the chaos.
This second edition of Out 2 Lunch, helmed by none other than international house heavyweight FISHER, who returned to his Gold Coast roots to deliver another mammoth weekend. Originally slated for Surfers Paradise, the festival relocated to Broadwater Parklands after Cyclone Alfred reshaped plans — but the energy more than made up for the venue change.
Despite Saturday’s wild weather, the mood never dipped and in a clever stroke of branding brilliance, Vodafone handed out red bucket hats and fans, quickly turning the grey skies into a bright sea of red. Fans, intended for heat relief, were repurposed as makeshift umbrellas — festival fashion and function in one. Between downpours, rainbows arced over the site, adding to the magic of the event.
The two-day, two-stage setup gave punters a mix of colossal mainstage energy and intimate, quirky vibes at the Little Lunch stage, housed charmingly inside a Mr Whippy ice cream van. While the Main Stage delivered stacked international talent — including Fisher (both nights), Chris Lake, Patrick Topping, DJ Boring, and Noizu — the Little Lunch stage held its own with local legends and surprise B2B sets. One of the weekend’s most buzzed-about moments was the impromptu set from Fisher, Chris Lake, and Little Fritter—a true gift to the crowd who braved the storm.
Saturday’s lineup brought heavy-hitters like Hayden James, Noizu, Patrick Topping, and rising local names like Wongo, SADBOY, and Chunky. Sunday, however, stole the show with near-perfect weather and a next-level energy. Sunday, however, stole the show with near-perfect weather and a next-level energy. Sets from DJ Boring, Yolanda Be Cool, Shimmy, and Kira Sunday had the crowd raving under pastel skies and light breezes.
The VIP experience was a sanctuary during Saturday’s downpour, with a two-story setup featuring undercover seating, private bars, and toilets — a blessing for those wanting a breather between the relentless rave energy.
In another demonstration of marketing magnificence, the site was littered with fun FISHER touches — giant FISHER-faced Cornhole boards, cardboard FISHER cut-outs (including one holding a balloon that somehow made it to the crowd centre before his set), and a sea of fresh Out 2 Lunch merch worn by those seeking warmth after the rain.
More than just a party, the event made a tangible impact:
30,000+ attendees over two days
$54 million injected into the local economy
1,500 jobs created, with over 200 local businesses engaged
City-wide sold-out accommodation
And over $30,000 raised for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, with $1 from each ticket and $20 from each guest list spot going to charity
Presented by TEG Live, Out 2 Lunch 2025 was more than a music event — it was a celebration of resilience, creativity, and connection. If Saturday was wild, Sunday was legendary. Rain or shine, the Gold Coast showed up and showed out.
Big Thanks to FISHER, Out 2 Lunch, TEG Live, and On The Map PR for having us along
