Clepatrick - Australia 2025

The Corner Hotel has seen its fair share of sweaty, high-energy rock shows, but when Cleopatrick rolled through on September 26, it felt like the walls were shaking a little harder than usual.

Opening the night was Melbourne’s own Fedz, who set the tone with a raw, riff-heavy set that immediately got heads nodding. Their mix of gritty guitars, thumping bass, and no-nonsense stage presence made them the perfect warm-up. By the end of their set, they’d earned more than a few new fans in the crowd.

Then came Cleopatrick, the Canadian band who’ve been making serious waves in the alt-rock world. Armed with nothing more than a guitar, a drum kit, and a whole lot of attitude, they proved once again that less can be more. Songs like Hometown and The Drake turned the packed Corner into one giant sing-along, while deeper cuts showed just how much weight they can carry with such a stripped-back lineup.

Luke Gruntz’s guitar work was blistering yet full of groove, while Ian Fraser’s drumming hit with the kind of force that rattled your chest. Between songs, Luke kept the vibe loose and genuine, chatting with fans and soaking in the energy. There was no over-the-top production, no flash —just two guys on stage delivering thunderous riffs and leaving it all out there.

By the time the last notes rang out, the crowd was sweaty, hoarse, and grinning ear to ear. Cleopatrick didn’t just play a show at the Corner Hotel — they threw a full-blown rock revival, reminding everyone why guitar-and-drum duos can hit harder than a band twice their size
