One Ok Rock - Detox Tour
One OK Rock’s Melbourne show at Margaret Court Arena felt big from the moment the lightsdropped. The room was packed with fans who clearly knew exactly what they were there for,and the energy in the arena kicked in almost instantly. It’s the kind of crowd the band seems tothrive on—loud, passionate, and ready to give everything right back.
The band came out swinging and kept the pace high throughout the set. Their mix of rock, alternative and pop influences translated perfectly in the arena space, withhuge guitars and bigchoruses that were clearly built for rooms like this. What makes One OK Rock stand out live is how naturally they move between those heavier moments and the more emotional parts of theirmusic without losing the crowd.
Taka held the whole thing together effortlessly. His voice carried across the arena with realpower, but there was also a sense that he was enjoying the connection with the crowd as muchas the performance itself. Fans were shouting lyrics back at the stage constantly, and the back-and-forth energy between the band and the audience made the whole night feel alive ratherthan just polished.
The visuals helped give the show an extra lift too. Strong lighting, bursts of colour, and bigscreen visuals gave the performance a lot of movement without feeling overproduced. It addedto the atmosphere rather than taking attention away from the band, which is always a good signof a well thought-out production.
What really stood out though was how global the room felt. One OK Rock have built a massive following far beyond Japan, and looking around the arena you could see fans from all sorts ofbackgrounds singing along together. It felt like a band that had travelled a long way and built something genuinely international.
By the timethe night was in full swing, Margaret Court Arena felt like it was running entirely on crowd energy. It was loud, fun, and the kind of show that reminds you why rock bands still work so well in big rooms like this. One OK Rock didn’t overcomplicate it—they just delivered a solid, high-energy performance and let the crowd do the rest
