Parkway Drive - Killing Horizons Tour 2026

Enmore Theatre, Sydney - 13/08/26

I've been a fan of Parkway Drive for years and the chance to hear them playing Horizons live from start to finish at the Enmore was never going to pass me by. The 13th August was a pretty significant day, in other words. And in case you were wondering, I wasn't disappointed. In fact, it exceeded my expectations!

It kicked off with Begin, leading into a flurry of crowd favorites - the siren call of The Sirens Song, the relentless Feed Them to the Pigs, then the raw power of Carrion and the introspective Five Months. It was an excellent walk down memory lane, except without it feeling like a tired nostalgia-fest, those songs still sound incredible when stripped bare by the stage.

When it comes to Boneyards, on the other hand, the venue seemed to combust. The beach balls started bouncing, the jumping and shouting kicked up a notch and it felt like you were part of one giant organism bouncing the energy of a Parkway show in its full, glorious chaos. This was by far my favourite part of the night.

Seeing such young fans so excited to witness Parkway's power first-hand was an awesome experience! They got the whole set, including Horizons. Can't complain with that as a first go.

This album continued, offering up a killer mix of Idols and Anchors, Moments in Oblivion and Breaking Point, before Dead Man's Chest proved a standout, particularly with the contribution from Pete Abordi , with one of those moments that makes you realise why you even go to shows, and this was surely one of them. I still remember wishing he would join Parkway as i stood watching them that night. It's moments like these where you all just know something really special is going down. Frostbite came next and then, finally, to top everything off with Horizons itself, in full!

It's such a good feeling to hear those songs performed the way they should be, from top to finish. Songs that you've had a long standing relationship with and where words don’t even require you to think, let alone have the effort of memorising thelyrics all over again. Such great times. Those are exactly those kinds of nights that remind you that you fall in love with an album, because it’s good, pure and simple, not just some nostalgic bullshit you tell your mates that it has had it’s last round of plays, you remember with these particular tunes nothing they carry or their original message will ever get lost no matter how long passes!

Right when you thought that was all there was of it, like everything before this point you were of course wrong because Parkway still had a setlist of hits up their sleeves. It was still high voltage on stage with Prey, Karma, Dark Days, Vice Grip as well as Romance Is Dead! . The encore was a complete send off of all things energetic with Bottom Feeder and a ferocious wild eyes! most, by now, sounded like they had lost the last scrap of voice.

Watching the audience was equally as captivating as looking at the stage. We had these wonderfully young kids lapping up every moment of glory while some us, a bit older and probably wiser were observing the scene with a touch more reserve, at least some us anyways.... There was the palpable scent of deep heat!

And that summed up the old emo’s in the room as, essentially, we're all still right here and we're still screaming those lyrics.

We just tend to be a bit more acquainted with what our physical reserves entail now, which makes it even more fun to watch from our slightly better seating arrangements perhaps!

To put it simply, what made the whole thing work were the different people on the dance floor that night, united by a love for the band! Those who had witnessed Parkway over the years mingled with those having the time of their lives for the first time as they celebrated one of their best records with such pure adoration; from all generations you have found common ground in those powerful tunes and have each found your equal and respective release here tonight. Whether it be a first for you all out there at the Enmore, those were nights filled with the fondest of memories! That night was just a damn good show and that’s exactly why people still invest a lot in going to see Parkway Drive live as their energy and dedication never goes off on you, especially with the talent they have.

Parkway Drive live at the Enmore playing Horizon was just as brilliant as could possibly be! It was deafening, messy and really, undeniably sweet! What I truly appreciated was its refusal to indulge in cheap nostalgic theatrics, that is very important these days!

My only caveat, if I can find one in that electrifying atmosphere, was simply that I will require three days to recuperate; this is the price one pays for experiencing such an epic performance and it was worth every lost hour of sleep and strained vocal chord!

Definitely would not hesitate to go again.
