The 3 Twenty Anniversary Tour

Three legendary names in Hip-Hop descended onto the stage in front of a packed house at Sydney’s Enmore Theatre on the 25th of June to celebrate the 20th anniversaries of three of the genre’s most influential albums — Obie Trice’s Cheers, D12’s D12 World, and Xzibit’s Man vs. Machine — with the trio bringing ‘The 3: Twenty Tour’ to Australia for a run of four shows.

Obie Trice and his hype man Damien Smith jumped on stage first, stating he "Came a long way to fuck with y'all". In between songs, he made a toast to the crowd with a nod to his iconic track ‘Cheers and joked about his struggles with getting an Australian visa, adding "Even when I did sell crack, I never snitched”. Obie paid tribute to legends from DMX to Nate Dogg (even our own Steve Irwin) encouraging the crowd to join him in putting their two’s up to the sky, before wrapping up his set with the "Shake That (Remix)," inviting ladies to dance on stage and playfully carrying an eager fan off in a caveman style.

D12’s Kuniva, Swifty McVay, and DJ Invisible were next to tear the stage up with an electrifying and engaging set where they also paid tributes to not only fallen comrades but also to Eminem, whom they praised for his vision, encouragement and talent. Tracks like ‘Git Up’ and ‘Shit on You’ had the crowd roaring, while DJ Invisible, who playfully encouraged everyone to follow his OnlyFans account, kept the beats pumping. The Duo launched into a transition track that went from ‘Purple Rain’ into ‘Purple Pills’, with Swifty decked out in a sequin jacket and wig for a bit of tomfoolery before leaving the stage.

Xzibit closed out the night, bringing his commanding presence to the stage and demonstrating what two decades of experience looks like. He greeted the crowd with, "How many people want to go to California real quick?" before launching into a bevy of his West Coast anthems tracks including ‘Multiply’ and ‘Get Ya Walk On’. Xzibit then surveyed the crowd to find three eager participants to help him rap out a few bars before keeping the clear winner Leah on stage to help him smash out the mega-hit ‘Alcoholic’. His acapella rendition of ‘Spit Shine’ showcased his raw talent and had the crowd jumping along, while a huge smile never left the showman’s face.
