The Church - Singles Tour

It was cosmic coincidence that I was able to even see The Church in Sydney on Wednesday night, even though they are travelling all over the country playing their Singles tour, they haven't quite made it to my home town in Far North Queensland, Thanks Steve Kilbey for letting this happen.

Steve Kilbey now in his 70s is an enigma of the Australian music scene, he has had massive international hits but as he he said with his typical dry wit tonight his last legitimate hit was in 1990, 35 years ago, but he has never given up making music and touring and clearly there is a crowd of people still wanting to see him play with this updated version of The Church.

This band now includes long time guitarist for Paul Kelly, Ash Naylor and one of Australia's greatest contemporary guitarists Ian Haug of Powderfinger fame, these two guys really brought some extra kick to the show.

It was a night of stories and songs led by one the best.

You can do this all again at The Enmore Theatre in Sydney on the 6th of February 2026
