Clean Vibes the future of festivals

One thing all festivals have in common regardless of its genre, location or size is Rubbish! A new partnership between Major Events Gold Coast (MEGC) and Clean Vibes has been created with the aim to reduce the waste at the Gold Coast’s major music festivals which it is hoped will minimize the impact on the environment. The partnership sees Clean Vibes become the Official Cleaning and Waste Management Services Provider for all four of MEGC's festivals in 2023 including Blues on Broadbeach, Cooly Rocks On, SPRINGTIME and Groundwater Country Music Festival
The waste challenges faced by all festivals is a tricky one to navigate but it seems Clean Vibes are making innovative steps to help reduce the footprint left by these events on the environment they are held on.

“Clean Vibes is proud to partner with Major Events Gold Coast to bring sustainable waste management and cleaning services to the Gold Coast community. ”

Initiatives that Clean Vibes are introducing include onsite waste sorting as well as the can and bottle return scheme. On-site Vendors are also encouraged to put in place sustainable practices to reduce overall waste and maximise recycling capabilities .

“We look forward to continuing to work with the MEGC team to maximise recycling and promote sustainable initiatives across its portfolio of festivals on the Gold Coast,”

Clean Vibes will work with festival vendors to ensure they are using approved recyclable or compostable service ware products onsite and the Clean Vibes team sort through all waste onsite and place into their appropriate waste streams. The use of waste stream bin covers to promote and educate festival patrons about waste separation will also be used easing the amount of general waste being diverted to landfill.

One must also see the other advantages besides looking after the planet. Multi day festivals will surely benefit from from having a cleaner environment for patrons to enjoy on day 2 or 3 of an event. What about all the extra jobs created by this initiative? the local unemployed or possibly even local community groups may be able to work alongside Clean Vibes in achieving their outcomes. Not to mention the good example it sets for not only other festivals but all mass gatherings whether they be sporting events, markets or even one off events.

With the amount of festivals on the circuit in Australia and the constantly growing number of attendees the issue of rubbish reduction and waste responsibility is no longer an option, it is a necessity for not only organizers but also the venues and the communities were they reside. Clean Vibes have fortunately seen this need and have come up with practical and achievable ways to tackle the issue.
