The Bread Gang just keep baking !

These days a party isn’t a party with out Australia’s favourite Larrikins/Party Starters, Bread Gang being on site. From their crazy interviews in the search for the country’s “Loosest Town” to the release of their singles ‘Rockstar’ & ‘Bang Bang’, the Bread Gang are definitely the “It” people of the moment and we wanted to find out a little more about the lads so we sat down with half the pair and hit Juzzy with some questions about the bands music, their love of festivals and what they have planned for the rest of 2022.

2020/21 were years full of uncertainty and change and for some the year came as a blessing for some a curse. How do you rate your Covid Years?

Covid was/is a nightmare for us! We were only 6 months into Bread Gang when Covid popped up and considering our brand is built on travelling and partying I think it's safe to say we are well behind where we would have been due to Covid.

You started 2022 off with the release of a new song, 'Bang, Bang', which included your alter ego, JustaGame , are you happy with the feed back you have received so far?

Bang Bang got us our first radio play so super happy! We're just having fun with the music, playing shows every week so starting our Bread Gang original music journey was a must and so far we're loving it. Some huge singles coming out soon!

What's the story behind 'Bang, Bang', what’s the song about for you?

Bang Bang is just a summer song we were vibing to after I freestyled on the best. Not much more to it.

Are there any plans to release a full Album soon or are you going to keep your focus on Singles?

Singles for now!

We love festivals. Always have always will!
— Bread Gang's Juzzy

The Bread Gang has started appearing on more music festivals rosters, are you enjoying the different atmosphere and stage dynamic that festivals provide?

We love festivals. Always have always will! There's just something about a large gathering of people coming together to sing and dance. Being on stage to control the vibe is just that cherry on top!

You were added to the EDM stage for November's Lunar Electric on the Gold Coast and your set to do the same with the guys for their National Tour in 2022, is it safe to say you enjoyed your festival experience with the Lunar team?

Lunar was amazing, they put on such a dope event at such a difficult time for the industry. We don't think they get enough credit for that.

Being booked for one of the country's favourite EDM/Hip-Hop festival, symbolises how far the band has come in the last 12- 24 months. Was this the indicator of the groups rise in popularity for you?

I think the indicators for our rise in popularity started in late 2019, we were really shocked one night in Newcastle when people were running from all over to take photos with us. Same thing happened the following weekend in Brisbane and hasn't really slowed down since. After a string of viral videos in August 2019 people just knew us from that day forward. Helps being so recognisable as well.

we never plan to crash someone else’s set but always end up being dragged out there for a shoey or stage dive!
— Juzzy

Lunar Electric has a huge lineup is there anyone your excited to see play? or anyone you'd love to join on stage from the stellar listing of artists?

Lineup is completely stacked so we'll be backstage all day enjoying the performances! I'm sure we'll sneak on stage for a stage dive during somebody's set, we never plan to crash someone else's set but always end up being dragged out there for a shoey or stage dive!

Collaborations are super popular these days, do you want to do collab work in the future? Is there anyone particularly you would like to perform or collab with?

We don't have our eyes on anybody but of course collabs can be super beneficial. We just like to do things our way and if we vibe with somebody then for sure the stars will align.

Where was your first gig as Bread Gang? Was it a success or flop?

Gilligans in Cairns on Australia Day! We've headlined there 4 times since then so I guess you'd say it was a success! Don't think gigs can flop when you have as much fun as we do!

If we have a message for anybody it’s you’ll be dead soon - go live your life!
— Juzzy

Your following is massive on social media, giving you the power of 'The Influencer'  Is this a responsibility that carries a weight you weren't expecting?

We don't feel any weight to act a certain way or send a certain message. What you see is what you get, we're young, we're having a good time and that's all we're focused on! Life is for the living, if we have a message for anybody it's you'll be dead soon - go live your life!

The Bread Gang coped a lot of flak in an article in the Daily Mail newspaper over a tobacco stunt outside a Centrelink office, unfairly having a go at you about "trying to humiliate the poor", You were labelled "Low Dogs" and "Bogans", did you expect this reaction? and do you care?

Didn't expect the reaction. The article was hilarious and we still laugh about it to this day. Must have been a slow news day.

Are you surprised by what people say and do when your interview them of the street in your search for "Australia's loosest town"

I think by now we've heard it all so I would say no but you can never be too prepared for what some punters come up with. Aussie culture at its best (or worst) and we've loved every second of it.

We don’t stop for anything, the ovens hot and the bread keeps baking
— Juzzy

Given that your usually your asking the questions, how are you finding being on the receiving end of the questions?

It's a nice change up!

Who in your crew or team deserves a shout out but never gets one? And what is they do that keeps your world turning?

What can fans look forward to in 2022 from The Bread Gang?
