Christian Ruiz from Producer to Artist
Glossy Elecrto-Pop artist and producer Christian Ruiz has released his new single & video ’Miss You’. ‘Miss You’ is Christian’s first single as a solo artist and the music video is the perfect accompaniment to instantly transport you into Christian’s creative world. After Covid forced the successful Hip Hop producer home from LA, Christian decided to finally try his hand at the solo artist dream he had always had. We got to ask Christian about the choice to try the solo thing, the song he chose to release to start of this career and his hopes to collab with the legendary Santana one day
For those that haven’t heard your music before , how do you describe your sound? What genre do you slot yourself into?
My sound is Rhythmic, Melodic, Sentimental, Nostalgic and if I was to describe one genre for my sound I would say that would be Pop
You have just released your first song in your Solo career. Tell us about 'Miss You'. What does the song mean to you?
Miss you is about a confusing but exciting dynamic between myself and a certain girl. Knowing that you both have a strong connection with each other but being too afraid to admit it. Realising that we’re both mirroring each other and in the exact same situation.
Was becoming a Solo artist always part of your plan, or was that something that just came about unexpectedly?
It was always my dream to become a solo artist from the day that I started producing. I have been dreaming and envisioning this day for almost ten years now.
Who came up with the concept for the 'Miss You' video? Any memorable moments during the making of it?
Myself and Joshua Menzel came up with this concept together. It started with myself seeing the notes/thoughts falling down on me in my head. I then described the concept to Joshua and we brainstormed the rest of the concept together. A memorable moment was the car battery of the hire van dying on us in the middle of the night in the cold on a salt lake. Luckily we had all our shots by that point!
Can we expect a full album or Ep out soon?
Yes, you can expect an album!
Do you plan to hit the road and tour soon?
If there is a demand for it, I am definitely more than keen to hit the road and play some epic shows!
How did you get your start in music?
It was through a band member/friend and producer/friend really believing and encouraging me that I had something and the producer/friend setting me up with some opportunities.
You are a very successful producer in your own right, do you play a part in the production side of your music, or do you hand that responsibility over to someone else?
I usually handle all of the production of my music, but there are times that I collaborate with my friend/producer Liam Quinn.
Who do you credit as your musical influences?
Michael Jackson, Justin Bieber, Santana, The Weeknd, Ryan Tedde$
Are collaborations something you would like to do in the future? Who would * your ultimate Collab Partner be?
Definitely! Santana would be awesome to collaborate with. I loved listening to him from a young age and I think we would pump out a hit together with one crazy guitar solo
Who in your crew or team deserves a shout out but never gets one? And what is it they do that keeps your world turning?
Liam Quinn is one good dude that has had my back and helped me out in the music industry for close to ten years now! He has always helped out on mixes for my songs and is always in my corner.
What's in-store for Christian Ruiz? What can fans look forward to from you next?
I will be dropping more singles in the very near future!
