Symbiotic is bringing you the Sunset Bros. like you’ve never seen them before! For one night only they are delivering their ‘We Are Sunset’ show for the very first time inside the iconic Hordern Pavilion in Sydney! The duo will put on their biggest production to date featuring live vocalists, performers and dancers with fans expected to witness a unique and inspired experience, incorporated with the usual Sunset Bros. flair, rolled into one epic performance and we can’t wait. MFA sat down to ask the Sunset Bros. about the exposure festival’s like Festival X provide artists, ticking the Hordern off the bucket list and the epic ‘We Are Sunset’ event happening on the 30th of July,
The first time we saw you was at Festival X in 2019 and it seems we weren't the only ones thoroughly impressed, as it was your brilliant performances at Festival X which was the catalyst for the big news you released last week. Would you agree that festival series changed the game for you in terms of popularity and commercial appeal?
Festival X was epic, in Australia it definitely helped. Now we want to go back, brb building a time machine lol!
So it was at Festival X that Symbiotic Events saw you perform at and knew they had to create an event fit enough to showcase your music, your ability to fill a venue and sell-out a major event in your own right. Is this when they approached you about the We Are special event you announced last Wednesday?
We’ve always talked about it, but we think that did help. Being born and raised here, Sydney has always shown massive love to us and we are forever grateful!

What can you tell us about We Are Sunset which will happen at the iconic Hordern Pavilion in Sydney on the 30th of July?
‘We Are Sunset’ is a special show for us, it’s Sunset Bros. in its most pure form. The energy and atmosphere are seriously hard to match, add Hordern to the mix and it takes it to a whole new level. We seriously cannot wait to jump on stage!
The event is set to be a "unique and inspired experience". What have you got planned to make this a different experience to what fans are used to?
Almost got us to spill the beans! That information is top secret lol, guess you’ll just have to be there :p
If you had a wish list of special guests who would be included?
That’s a tough one! Most of the special guests we’d like, are already coming! Ohhh geezzz did we say too much?
Can you give us any hints to the special guests that are already confirmed to be appearing?
That would just ruin the surprise!!!
Will you be releasing an anthem for We Are Sunset or new music for the event ?
You know what, we never thought of that! That is such an awesome idea! YES! We will definitely be making an anthem or three lol! (Damn it, we’re going to have to give you some royalties for that idea aren’t we lol?)
How do you prepare yourself for such a unique event?
Plenty of good rest, good eating, exercise and countless hours preparing in the studio.
Is there any chance this will extend into a yearly special event, or is it strictly a one-time only show?
This will be our third ‘We Are Sunset’ show, the previous two were both sold out the Enmore Theatre shows. There’s no real set schedule, I guess it’s more like if the time’s right, let’s give it to em!
When we last spoke, your favourite song to perform live was I'm 'Feeling It', is this still the case or has it been replaced by some of your newer material?
There’s so much new stuff that we can’t wait to play, but ‘I’m Feeling It’ has a special place in our hearts. It’s just one of those moment tracks that always lifts the spirits of the crowd! It’s hard to beat really.
The Hordern Pavilion is a special place to any Music loving Sydney-Sider, is this a tick for your bucket list? Being able to perform at this legendary venue in your home-town?
We just got goosebumps thinking about it. It’s more than a tick, it’s more like a World Cup final! We don’t think it’s actually hit us yet, there will be tears lol!
2020/21 were years full of uncertainty and change, are you glad to be getting back to performing in front of a real crowd again and some sort of normality?
Of course! Glad not just for us, but for everyone in the music and hospitality scene. It hasn’t been easy but that’s behind us now. No looking back!

In your journey as a performer/group have you changed? Is life much different for you from when you started out?
We will never change, only the goals do!
Who in your crew or team deserves a shout out but never gets one? And what is it they do that keeps your world turning?
We always let the people around us know how much we love and appreciate them, but we gotta show love to Jano, Richie and the entire Symbiotic crew for really believing in and backing us.
