WOMADelaide 2024
WOMADelaide has confirmed its festival dates for 2024, with the celebration of music, arts and dance presented in the glorious Botanic Park/Tainmuntilla, in the heart of Adelaide, from the 8th -11th of March. WOMADelaide’s lineup includes a mix of newly-discovered and established artists from across the world including Emel Mathlouthi (TUNISIA), Corinne Bailey Rae (UK),Thee Sacred Souls (USA) and Cymande (UK), Yussef Dayes, Ziggy Marley, Baaba Maal, Arooj Aftab, Charlotte Adigery & Bolis Pupul, Lisa O’Neill and Cormac Begley, being just the tip of the huge roster.
Performing throughout the tranquil surrounds of the centrally located Botanic Park, festivalgoers will encounter more than just a global musical journey with an eclectic and fascinating range of performances by French companies Cie L'Immediat and their captivating La lévitation réelle (real levitation), where performers seemingly float into the sky; Compagnie On Off who use music, invention and humour in their delightful piece Le Chant de l'Eau and acclaimed aerialists Gratte Ciel with RoZéO, where performers dance in the air atop 10 metre poles, Canadian dance company CORPUS who combine movement with theatrical imagery for Divine Interventions, featuring four singing goddesses, and Les moutons, a hilarious observation about sheep; and Melbourne physical theatre ensemble Born in a Taxi'sIlluminated Angelsbestow light and joy wherever they land.
