Daft Punk formed in Paris in 1993 by Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo adding a French style to House Music. Their 1997 album ‘Homework' was a dance music landmark featuring singles ‘Da Funk' and ‘Around the World.’

By the release of their second album, ‘Discovery’ in 2001, the duo had taken to live appearances in robot suits that would cement their image on a global level in the dance music scene.

The break up was confirmed by Daft Punk Publicist Kathryn Frazier.
