LANEWAY MUSIC TO HOST MONTHLY SHOWCASE FOR ICONIC ARTISTS

After the success of Welcome Back Melbourne in March, that saw a line up of some of that cities finest talent in rock n roll treading the boards for the first time in over a year, Laneway Music will host a monthly Showcase event on the last Sunday of the month until the end of 2021.

Since 2015, Laneway Music has existed to help iconic artists get their material online. There are still so many artists from the pre-digital world that do not have their material online for their fans to enjoy. Laneway’s mission is to ensure that their artists' body of work, including previously released material, rarities, unreleased tracks and new music is completely available on all legitimate digital platforms worldwide.

Some of the acts, Laneway Music have help resurrect from tape bins and vinyl milk crates and breathe new life into old catalogues include; The Celibate Rifles, The Mark Of Cain, Do Re Mi, v.Spy v.Spy, Madder Lake, the Lime Spiders, Simon Chainsaw, Steve Lucas, Big Heavy Stuff .

With more and more artists releasing through Laneway Music nearly every month, the label has quickly become ground zero for many iconic Australian acts to return. Laneway Music showcases their artists via a series of incredible playlists on their Spotify page including lists for Alternative Rock, Rock Classics, Acoustic, Aussie Old School, Songwriters and more.

The next Showcase is on Sunday, July 25 at Pome in Richmond, Melbourne
Featuring one of the nations most beloved guitarists,
Phil Manning.

Phil will be performing songs from his entire catalogue as well as from his forthcoming new album to be released late 2021.  A guitar virtuoso in the field of Blues and Blues rock, Phil is known as one of Australia’s finest guitar players over the last 40yrs. He first came to public attention as a member of the now legendary “Chain’, a prominent rock/blues band of the sixties and seventies, which still performs to this day. Phil has recorded over 15 ‘Solo’ albums and countless with ‘Chain’, he has toured endlessly throughout Australia and New Zealand, as well as touring internationally. In 2020 Phil Manning was inducted into Blues Victoria’s ‘Hall of Fame’ by popular vote as a ‘Legend’- a testimony to his career in blues and roots-based music.
