Jamhuri Day Celebrations

Rasta Lion Wear is hosting a family-friendly celebration of Jamhuri Day this December. The Jamhuri Day Celebration Festival will be a celebration of the Kenyan Independent Day, and will include live music performances, workshops, Market Stalls and activities for the kids. Kicking off at 11am on the 11th of December at The Heko Farm in West Lara, Victoria the tunes and activities will run right through till 8pm making this a great family day out.

All facets of the Kenyan music culture will be on display for everyone to experience and immerse themselves in including international DJs to really showcase the rhythms of Kenya. . Headliners Sauti Sol (Kenya), Turbulence (Jamaica), DJ Double Trouble (Kenya), DJ Kalonje(Kenya) will be the on the main stage accompanied by a massive list of local DJ’s that include DJ Sam, DJ Pit, DJ Decklack, DJ Eryq, DJ Trece just to name a few.

This all-ages event will include a kids playground, face painting and lots of fun activities for kids. . Kenyan food stalls will be on hand to provide yummy eats, while shoppers can satisfy their urges with a range of market stalls to also be set up on the day.

Q How do I purchase tickets to The festival?

A Via the website, through our partners Eventbrite or at the entry to the festival (unless sold out prior). Sign up to our newsletter for ticket updates. rastalionwear@hotmail.com

Q Can I come to the festival without a parent or guardian if I’m under 18?

A Persons under the age of 18 MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Under 18 tickets can only be purchased with an adult ticket or by an adult who already has a ticket. Under 18 attendees MUST arrive and be wrist-banded with the “responsible adult” who purchased the ticket.

 

Q Is there a set time, map and festival program?

A Yes, these will be published online in the weeks prior to the event.

Q Is there alcohol or Food on site and can I bring my own?

A There are bars within the main arena serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. BYO alcohol is not permitted. Food will be available both in the venue Bar as well as food stalls.

Q What if it rains or there is severe weather?

A Rain or shine, the show will go on!
