Rockhampton’s River Fest

Rockhampton, the beautiful sunny city in far north Queensland will come alive this July, with a three day festival in the heart of town. From the 28th -30th of July a array of Australian musical talent from a variety of genres will play at the FREE & family friendly event. Not only will be festival goers be treated to music from Birdz, Andrew Swift, The Delta Riggs and The Stone Apes, there will be an abundance of Art Installations, Workshops, Arts & Craft, local vendor stalls and a selection of food to take you right around the world.

From the time River Fest kicks off on Friday eveing at 5:30pm to when the festivities conclude at 8pm on Sunday night, two stages will house some of the best musical talent in the country. The TUNUBA Stage will host Leonie Kingdom, Lucid Safari, Mitch King, Katanak, The Short Fall, The Delta Riggs, Chavez Cartel, Tom Mac, Dave Dow, Kate Mahood, Sunday Lemonade, Charlie Needs Braces & Birdz. The Shipyard Stage will be home for Owls of Neptune, Micka Scene, Ben Penna, Louise James FX, Jesse Harp & Josh Bobadilla, Straycutter, Wilma La, Treehouse, Scott Foden, Weathered, Math and The Stone Apes.

Country Fans are also going to be well looked after at River Fest, with the return of the highly anticipated Country on Quay opening night concert, which showcases some of Australia’s finest country music stars. The 2023 lineup see Andrew Swift and Amber Lawrence (Country Music Association of Australia (CMAA) Golden Guitar Male and Female Artists of the Year 2023) headlining the Tunuba Stage. They will be joined by local up-and-coming country artists, Zac Cross Band and Brad Butcher.

The kids will be kept well and truly occupied at River Fest with a variety of workshops, activities and even their very own area within the festival, from Larrikin Puppets to Helly Hoops, Rock Art to Children’s Art installations and roving performers. “Kids Gone Country” will kick off Saturday at midday with a concert starring the one and only Amber Lawrence, with a performance filled with high energy, audience participation, and endless fun.
