Aussie Rock Is Not Dead!

The heart of Australia’s rock scene is set to beat louder and stronger this February as the Rock Is Not Dead Festival rolls into The Koala Tavern, Capalaba Qld on February 1st. Organized by the passionate Rock Is Not Dead group, this event promises a night bursting with pure, homegrown rock ‘n’ roll, celebrating Aussie rock culture with a fierce determination to revive a scene that’s struggled to regain its footing in a post-COVID world.

From their humble beginnings as a Facebook group (Fans of Hair / Glam / Sleaze Metal Aus), this page then expanded to a YouTube channel (Rock Is Not Dead Aus) which continued its dedication to everything Aussie Rock while also maintaining its ethos of promoting the amazing homegrown talent we have across the Australian Rock Scene. In the next step of their plan to reignite the scene, the group are now hosting their own festival. The Rock Is Not Dead Festival is a self-funded event consisting of eight Australian Rock bands, with the event’s aim to promote awareness of the unrecognised talent circulating in our own backyard. Smashing out riffs on the night will be Avalanche, Tailor Made Rejects, Snake Bite Whisky, Black Whiskey, Stone Rising, Whiskey On The Rox, Goatzilla and Slyther.

Prioritising exposure over profit, tickets are a measly $35 pp and all profits are being rolled over to fund the next Aussie Rock event.
