The Launch of Lucidity

Destroy All Lines has revealed Melbourne is getting a brand new heavy music festival, with Lucidity launching on Saturday the 13th of March 2027 at the iconic Melbourne Pavilion.

Headlining the inaugural event are metalcore pioneers Converge, who will celebrate the 25th anniversary of their landmark 2001 album Jane Doe with an exclusive full-album performance. The band has performed the record in its entirety only twice before, making the Melbourne show a rare opportunity for Australian fans.

Other special performances to happen at Lucidity will include Belgian post-black metal outfit Oathbreaker will make their first trip to the Southern Hemisphere with a festival-exclusive set celebrating 10 years of their acclaimed album Rheia. They’ll be joined by Australian powerviolence heavyweights Extortion, Texan metal punks Portrayal of Guilt, and Melbourne post-metal/hardcore outfit The Broderick, reuniting for a 15th-anniversary performance of their debut album Free To Rot, Free of Sin.

Also on the lineup are Wiegedood, Ends in Tragedy, Blind Girls, Isua and Melting, bringing together a diverse mix of international and Australian heavy music.

Limited to just 2,000 tickets, Lucidity will also feature a pop-up record store by Homewrecker Records, built by visual artist Callum Preston, live artist Q&As hosted by the Oblivious Maximus podcast, market stalls and food trucks.
