The Push is on!
The Push Over Festival is making a one-day-only return this November as The Push celebrates 40 years of supporting young Australians through music, bringing together some of the country's most iconic alternative acts for a landmark all-ages event in Melbourne. Taking place at the Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne on Saturday the 21st of November, as part of the Live at the Gardens series, the Push Over – 40 Years of The Push is set to feature performances from Bodyjar, Frenzal Rhomb, Killing Heidi, Magic Dirt and Regurgitator.
Reviving the spirit of the much-loved all-ages festival that ran from 1992 to 2013, the special event pays tribute to a generation-defining platform that helped launch countless Australian artists while introducing thousands of young fans to live music. Adding to the celebrations, each of the five headline acts will be joined on stage by a surprise special guest with strong ties to The Push, with the guest lineup including Alex Lahey, Alice Ivy, Baker Boy, members of Public Figures, Ruby Fields, and Teenage Joans, Thalia and Cahli, with the artist pairings only being revealed on the day.
Since its beginnings in 1986, The Push has become one of Australia's most influential youth music organisations, championing all-ages live music, artist development and pathways into the music industry. In 2024, The Push was inducted into the Music Victoria Hall of Fame, recognising the impact the organisation has made in the last four decades on the Australia's music community.
