Ability Fest is back for 2021 !
Ability Fest is unique in the festival calendar as its Australia’s first and only completely inclusive, fully accessible music festival, brought to you by the Dylan Alcott Foundation & Untitled Group.
Ability Fest came to fruition when Dylan Alcott(Three time Paralympic gold medalist & 14 time grand slam champion) joined forces with the masterminds behind such festivals as Beyond The Valley, Grapevine Gathering and Wildlands, and aims to use music as an inclusive platform to normalise disability.
Ability Fest is being held in the Alexandra Gardens this year, with the heart of Melbourne providing the stage and backdrop. The Gardens will become '“a completely accessible venue with the inclusion of elevated platforms, pathways, a dedicated sensory area, quiet zones, companion ticketing, ramps, stacks of friendly volunteers & of course; accessible toilets.”
The pandemic forced the cancelation of last year’s event but the 27th of November date sees the return of Ability Fest for 2021. The lineup to hit the two Ability Fest stages include Alex The Astronaut, Benson, Cub Sport, Dena Amy,Ebony Boadu, Eves Karydas, Illy, Inkrewsive, JK-47, Motez, Nina Las Vegas, Peking Duk, Rudely Interrupted, Stace Cadet, Sumner, Sunshine and What So Not.
In its first two years, Ability Fest raised almost $500,000 for Alcott’s foundation and these funds are used to help young Australians with disabilities fulfil their potential through a grant program.
With the funds of each ticket bought going directly to the foundation, please support a great cause by simply enjoying a great day out with fantastic Aussie music.
