90ivy’s Top 4 memories from the making of new single 'Public Displays of Deflection

1. The original PDOD was recorded months ago, but was majorly not the vibe. It was too rocky, too harsh, just not us. Not sure what we were smoking that day when recorded it, but it was honestly really fun in the studio to get all AC/DC about it. It was just the moment we left, we knew we would have to go back and change it all which was....... something.

2. We finally booked in 1 day with Pete [Pete Holz (Gang Of Youths, Peking Duk, Vance Joy)] to completely overhaul the song. We had zero plan, zero idea what needed to change - we just knew we needed something different. Pete's face when all four of us walked in there with no plan and the goal to completely redo a song in one day was priceless.

3. There's a point in the production phase where the song is clearly not finished but it;'s halfway through and it's going in the directions you want it to and you can hear its potential. There's no better feeling than everyone in the room being equally as excited by each different layer and idea.

4. At the end of the session, and the song was sounding so mint, we all got up and danced. That's never happened before, it was so weird....but definitely proved as a sign that we had a certified banger on our hands.
