You Missed My Heart - Mark Kozelek: This one is an all time favourite of mine. It tells the story of someone who has lost the love of their life, and is willing to do anything, including lose their life, to get their heart back. It’s truly devastating.
Hallelujah - Jeff Buckley: Jeff Buckley's rendition of the song Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen is one of the most heartbreaking and gutwrenching songs about guilt and loss. The lyrics are incredible and Jeff Buckley’s storytelling throughout the song just makes it somehow more devastating.
Somebody Else - The 1975: This one is a classic in my eyes and is one of the most devastating songs about moving on after heartbreak. I think so many people relate to this song because of how universal the lyrics are and how catchy it is. Honestly I can’t really listen to this song because once I hear the first two piano chords my stomach drops.
Still Feel It All - MARO: Okay this is genuinely a warning. If you are actively heartbroken do not listen to this song!! I think this is one of the most devastating songs about not being able to move on from heartbreak, because you are still so in love with the person you lost.
