Molly Rocket’s Guide to your local scene - Top 4 Adelaide artists people should know about

Adelaide is home to an amazing, tightly knit music scene that is not dominated by one specific genre; which is why we love it! If you’re looking to suss out a few amazing bands here’s what we’d recommend.

Looch -  Their tunes are undeniably catchy, fun and the perfect soundtrack to having an absolute time whether it be surfing, skating, or just cleaning the house you’ll feel on top of the word listening to it either way. All of their live shows feel like a routy house party every time, and the members are extremely genuine and are the party animals you’d expect them to be.

Lola - Lola shares the same old school values of Molly Rocket through a true and genuine punk rock sound. They totally throw the repeated modern adaption of punk rock out the window, and cut right to the chase. Their songs are friggin’ ear-worms and they are extremely tight live too. Every member seems to never miss a note or beat.

Dorks are another punk band that we love! They make as much noise as Lola with only two members, even turning up the grit a notch. It is so much fun to watch how the duo interact with each other live, their dynamic and stage presence is impeccable.

The Empty Threats is a pretty well known band in the scene and for good reason. A bit psychedelic, shoegaze-y and a bit angry they churn out some energetic bloody tunes. It is an otherworldly experience to see them live as well not only having this big layered sound, but their crowd interaction is bananas. The lead singer will literally bring the show right to your face, getting into the audience and singing to you. They have a super unique look and sound, and are definitely one to watch.
