Ziggy Alberts - Homecoming Tour

Brisbane enjoyed a warm, breezy evening for Ziggy Alberts’ Homecoming Tour at Riverstage, and the atmosphere was perfect for the occasion. With the venue nearly full and the hillside buzzing, the night had that classic Riverstage vibe; relaxed, friendly, and full of energy. With support from The Beautiful Girls and Jeremy Loops, the evening started strong and kept building.

The Beautiful Girls opened the night with their signature coastal, feel-good sound. They have aged like a fine wine, smooth, steady, and full of charm. Their warm mix of roots and reggae immediately set a laid-back tone that carried across the hill and got the crowd ready for the night ahead.

Jeremy Loops followed and lifted the energy straight away. His upbeat presence and easy connection with the audience had the crowd cheering and singing along from the first song. He moved through favourites like 'All Good', 'Mortal Man', 'Til I Found You', and 'Sugarcane Love' with effortless energy.

He is currently touring in support of ‘Feathers and Stone’, his first album in 10 years, released in July. The set balanced old favourites with songs from the new album, giving fans a mix of nostalgia and fresh material. Closing with 'Coming Home', Jeremy sparked one of the biggest singalongs of the night. When he announced he would return in 2026 for a headline tour, the Riverstage crowd erupted.

Ziggy Alberts then took the stage to a huge welcome, immediately settling into the heartfelt, honest storytelling he is known for. Opening with 'Days in the Sun', he moved through favourites like 'Stronger' and 'Where Does the Love Go', each song connecting warmly with the audience.

One of the night’s standout moments came when Ziggy appeared in the middle of the crowd to perform 'Learn Yourself' and 'Gone(The Pocahontas Song)'. Surrounded by fans, he created an intimate moment that made the large venue feel surprisingly small and personal.

Back onstage, Ziggy continued with 'Simple Things', 'Heartbeat', and 'Together' before closing his main set with a powerful performance of 'Runaway'. The crowd’s loud cheers brought him back for a heartfelt encore, including his new song 'Cyclones', which ended the night on a calm and emotional note.

As people made their way out under the Brisbane sky, it was clear this show had been something special. Ziggy’s return to Riverstage felt like a true homecoming; warm, heartfelt, and a celebration of how far he has come.

Thanks to Ziggy Alberts, CMNFLK, Beehive PR and the Riverstage for having us along.
