Savour South Summit at Good Gumnuts
Good Gumnuts Festival is a family-friendly event that aims to celebrate music, culture, and lifestyle in an inclusive way. The 3rd edition of the Good Gumnuts Festival is set to take place on the 4th & 5th of January in Burnie, Tasmania, with a giant roster of Australian artists and bands from a variety of genres. We caught up with WA band South Summit, who are performing at the festival, to ask them about their Good Gumnuts preparations, what fans can look forward to and who they would like to join on stage from the extensive lineup.
You are one of the acts announced for the 2025 Gumnut Festival happening in Tasmania on the 4th & 5th of January. Are you looking forward to starting the year off as part of this all-Australian line-up?
We are so stoked to be playing Good Gumnut Festival for the first time! We’ve only ever been to Tasmania twice as a band, so to play this iconic festival is a dream come true. It’s always nice kicking off the year playing festivals, it’s what we love to do so that’s gonna be special.
How do you prepare yourself for a festival event like the Good Gumnuts Festival?
We’ve got a couple of festivals over the NYE period, so making sure the set list is ready and we’re all sounding tight. Also, making sure we’re prepared to have a good time after our set. Keeping a couple of cold bevs in the fridge usually does the trick!
What can punters expect from your upcoming performance in glorious Burnie?
Good vibes, summer jams, rock-reggae tunes
If you could jump on stage and collaborate with any artist or band from the Gumnuts line-up, who would it be and why?
Hockey Dad x SS collab wouldn’t be too bad, would it…
What’s the one song from your back catalogue you will definitely be including in your Good Gumnuts set and why?
We always find a spot to squeeze “Runaway” onto our Setlist, we released it back in 2022 but it still goes off live so we gotta keep playing it!
What's your favourite festival memory either as a scheduled act or as an attendee?
Festivals are probably the most fun we have out of any shows we do! We’ve got so many good memories of watching other sick bands and hanging out with mates in the crowd, that’s always a good vibe.
Do you have a message for the attendees coming to see you play at the Good Gumnuts Festival?
Let’s have a bloody party eh!!! Keen to see ya’s all at Good Gumnut’s in January.
