The Pierce Brothers are heading to Gumnuts

Good Gumnuts Festival is a family-friendly event that aims to celebrate music, culture, and lifestyle in an inclusive way. The 3rd edition of the Good Gumnuts Festival is set to take place on the 4th & 5th of January in Burnie, Tasmania, with a giant roster of Australian artists and bands from a variety of genres. We caught up with folk duo, the Pierce Brothers, who are performing at the festival, to ask them about their Good Gumnuts preparations, what fans can look forward to from their set and who they would like to join on stage from the extensive lineup.

You are one of the acts announced for the 2025 Gumnut Festival happening in Tasmania on the 4th & 5th of January.  Are you looking forward to starting the year off as part of this all-Australian line-up?

I have to say, it’s got to be one of the best ways to start the year with this lineup, in one of my favourite places in the world!! We absolutely CANNOT WAIT!!

How do you prepare yourself for a festival event like the Good Gumnuts Festival?

We try to change up our sets as much as possible. Luckily we’ve been touring so much in 2024 that we’re all feeling really comfortable in jamming now as a 3 piece!

What can punters expect from your upcoming performance in glorious Burnie?

A whole lot of energy! It’s something we always try to bring to the table, play as if our lives depend on it! Festival sets are what Pierce Brothers exist for! We want to jump, dance, yell, sing and vibe with Burnie!

If you could jump on stage and collaborate with any artist or band from the Gumnuts line-up, who would it be and why?

I’ve always loved San Cisco, but I have to say Alex Lahey! What a bloody excellent writer, performer and all-round legend!

What’s the one song from your back catalogue you will definitely be including in your Good Gumnuts set and why?

‘Golden Times’. It’s a festival song. Always has been!

What's your favourite festival memory either as a scheduled act or as an attendee?

Watching Paul Kelly play ‘How To Make Gravy’ at Falls Festival in 2006.

Do you have a message for the attendees who are coming to see you play at the Good Gumnuts Festival?

Come and join us for some fun, this is going to be a blinder!
