Today is release day for The Wrecks, second album Sonder and the band are so glad that fans can hear what they have been working on throughout the lockdowns and pandemic. The ‘Sonder’ album is the follow up album to 2020’s Infinitely Ordinary and the handful of EP’s the band released in early years. The band have just kicked off their ‘Better Than Ever’ tour in the US, a tour the band are hoping to bring downunder in the near future. We spoke to The Wrecks Vocalist/Producer, Nick Anderson about the new album, the highs and lows of touring and the bands eagerness to play any festival offered.

After a sell out national tour in 2018, that saw the return to the stage for the beloved Aussie band, Motor Ace are back to celebrate twenty years of Five Star Laundry - the landmark album that catapulted them on to the global music scene with a National Tour and a 20th Anniversary re-issue of their debut album which will be released as a limited edition on November 5th. Motor Ace have also released their first new music in a while with ‘Knock Knock’ the first track off their forthcoming EP, due out later this year. We had a chance to ask the band about the new music their making, the up and coming National tour and getting back to the festival circuit this coming summer.

Lily Jade may be a new name to you, but it won’t be for long. This young and talented Australian singer has released her first single ‘Back 2 You’ and already has an EP recorded ready to gift the world. Lily Jade is the perfect role model for any up and coming singer/songwriter, her hard work and dedication to her craft has seen her attend Music Industry College and work with Asha Jefferies after winning the college’s Sarabah Songwriting Camp, and now she is set to launch her ‘Back 2 You’ single at a launch show in July. We took some time out to ask Lily Jade about her musical journey so far, her hopes to inspire other young people with Type 1 Diabetes, and her dream of collaborating with her idol Adele one day.

This week sees the release of Jack Panther’s second EP, titled ‘why don't you come on over’ , which features his latest single ‘Ski Lift 001’ and the native NZ’er couldn’t be more excited to get the new music out into the world. The album demonstrates a “turning point” in Jack’s life, using the writing of the songs as a cathartic experience and a lesson in acceptance and letting go. MFA got to talk to Jack a couple of weeks ago and we asked him about ‘Ski Lift 001’ & its video, the evolution of his music on the new EP and the beautiful, fun, sassy queer track that he thinks he could make with Omar Apollo.

Somewhere between suave and grit, WA rockers King Brown have returned with their latest single ‘My Love’. Pulling influence from The Black Keys, Verge Collection, and The Reubens, King Brown add their own accomplished stye to make this Aussie rock arena worthy. We got the chance to ask the King Brown lads about the new song, the pressures of doing everything “in-house” and where to from here for the talented Aussie Rock ‘n’ Rollers.

Northern Beaches rockers Edgecliff have released their brand new single ‘I’ll Be Gone’, combining rock and plenty of swagger. The band are busily preparing for their official launch event at the Avalon RSL on the 11th of June and their appearance at Running on Empty Festival in Cobar but they still took time out to talk to MFA about the new single, the early beginnings of the band in high school and what it’s like to be a tradie by day and a musician by night.

Having written songs for Will Sparks, Young Franco and Nicky Romero, Genes has over 50 million global songwriting streams as well as 180k+ streams on her last single ‘Kind of Bi’ and 5.5k Tik Tok followers it’s not unreasonable to say Genes is the next wave of Aussie Pop. Her new song 'Crumble' is effervescent, fun and vibrant which Genes has been known to bring to each of her releases so far. MFA got the chance to chat to Genes, so we asked her about the new song, the difference in writing songs for herself instead of other people and the moment she “fangirled” over Guy Sebastian sharing one of her videos.

What can be said about the collaboration of FRIENDLESS and JANNAH BETH, amazing and individual in their own right but pair them up and you get, Ego Drop, their latest song which serves as a teaser of what’s to come from their forthcoming EP ‘Fun’. We sat down with mesmerizingly unique Jannah Beth to talk to her about all the new music including her solo ep ‘Product of a Dreamer’, the creation of her recording studios, Offbeat Collective and the full circle moment from getting a Horrorshow tattoo to going on tour with him in the very near future.

SYNTHONY will play seven performances across the country kicking off on the 28th of May in Brisbane. MFA got a chance to ask Savage a few questions about being involved with this spectacular event, what the future holds for Savage and his band Deceptikonz and the hopes he has of teaming up with Timbaland.

Bliss n Eso, from the beginning have always been dedicated to their music, their fans, and and the connection the two provide. The Sydney trio have been busy since Covid restrictions have lifted with the band over half way through their national ‘The Sun’ tour, they are headlining the Homegrown Festival in Melbourne, and are also preparing for a one night only special performance titled ‘Strings Attached’ which will see the pioneers of Australian Hip Hop, team up with The Brisbane Symphony Orchestra. So while there was a break in their hectic schedule, we jumped at the chance to sit down and ask Bliss about ‘The Sun’ tour, the highlights so far in a unique career, and the dream of one day collaborating with his favourite band, OUTKAST.

Splitting her time between Australia, America, Europe and the UK is keeping Adelaide native Alex Hosking super busy but she wouldn’t have it any other way. The UK chart-topper has come home recently to not only see family but to launch her latest track ‘Need Your Love’ which she collaborated with legendary DJ and Producer Majestic. So before she heads back overseas we took timeout to ask Alex about the new song, the impact Covid had on writing new material and what it’s like being an Australian making music in the UK.

TENZIN is no stranger to big festivals or main stages having played Splendour In The Grass, Big Day Out, and the international Creamfields so it comes as no surprise he’s super keen to get back to the festival circuit now that the industry is getting back to regular events. We sat down to ask TENZIN about his preparation for the Infield Festival, the best and worst parts of festivals and how “sick” a collab with Mashd n Kutcher would be.

Legendary Rockers Screamfeeder, are releasing their new studio album Five Rooms this Friday, and the band are excited to get out and showcase the new music on their national album launch tour which kicks off in June and sees the band visit Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide and Brisbane with Adalita as support. The first single from Five Rooms, ‘Don’t Get Me Started’ has already received high praise within the industry and has seen a revival of interest in Screamfeeder 30 years after the release of their first album, Flour. So before the band’s schedule fills up we took time to ask Screamfeeder about the new album, playing festivals like Spring Loaded and covering Sesame St songs.

Spiderbait have just released their latest album ‘Sounds in the key of J’, an album of homage to their Bass player and Vocalist Janet English and before the band hits the road for their first National Tour since 2017, we had the absolute privilege to chat to Drummer/Vocalist KRAM about the new album, the bands love of Janet and the enjoyment they get playing festivals.

Coffee is ABROAD’s first release for 2022 and is the follow up to their hugely successful single, Waves which amassed over 1.1 million streams on Spotify! The duo are about to set out to give fans a real taste of Coffee with a three show NSW tour, so before the lads hit the road we took time out to ask them about the how it feels to be apart of the 1 million club, when we can expect an album out and how to finish a gig on a buskers amp.

Tim Wheatley has a music pedigree most artists would only dream about, so it’s no surprise he became a successful musician, with a career spanning 20 years so far. April has seen Tim release the single ‘Shiny Tacoma’ of his forthcoming Ep of the same name which is out on the 19th of May via His father, Glenn’s, Wheatley Records label. We spoke to Tim about the making of Shiny Tacoma in Byron Bay, playing The Americana Festival in Nashville and being the support act for Humphrey B Bear.

Sam Shinazzi’s DAYS I WON’T FORGET features the single Closing Time (with Katie Brianna) and is his 6th full-length album. Sam’s music has taken him across Australia and made multiple tours of the U.S. Whilst ‘Days I Won’t Forget’ is a definite step forward in the evolution of Sam’s music, there’s certainly advantages to be gained by looking back. We caught up with Sam to ask him about the new album, what it’s like to have your music in a feature film and the Travelling Medicine Show he is doing for Stanley Records.
