Going Clean at Lime Green
Lime Cordiale, Chugg Music and triple j have announced the launch of a brand-new music festival that is placing green initiatives at the heart of the live music experience. Lime Green Festival is a bold new event concept that will change what a music festival can look like when climate action leads the way.
Set to take place in Adelaide on the 18th of April at Point Malcolm Reserve, Lime Green is more than a festival, it is an event planned with the ambition of operating entirely off-grid, proving that environmentally responsible live music can thrive in regional South Australia and beyond. With a lineup that brings together established favourites and rising local talent, Lime Green’s roster will feature Lime Cordiale, The Dreggs, aleksiah, PASH, plus a triple j Unearthed winner, alongside additional emerging artists selected through community and local partnerships.
At the core of Lime Green is a commitment to reducing environmental impact without compromising the festival experience. In partnership with Aggreko, the event will explore powering the main stage (and potentially the entire site) using industrial-scale battery systems supported by vegetable-oil generators. The festival will prioritise plastic elimination, renewable and reusable systems, solar and bike-powered charging stations, low-impact transport options, and upcycled merchandise, including experimental materials such as seaweed-based products. Food and beverage offerings will focus on local, organic and carbon-neutral vendors, with free drinking water available on site and surplus food donated to charities to minimise waste.
Community impact is central to Lime Green’s mission. Through the Solar Slice initiative, a world-leading environmental ticketing model, a $1 from every ticket sold will support science-backed climate and nature projects. Funds raised at Lime Green will go directly towards a South Australian community-led response to the current algal bloom, continuing Lime Cordiale’s long-standing commitment to practical, local climate action.
With music, innovation and environmental responsibility working hand in hand, Lime Green Festival aims to blend live music, community and sustainability into one future-focused celebration.
