Happy 30th HARDWARE

Hardware is celebrating 30 years of bringing the best electronic music events to the punters of Australia, and what’s the perfect way to mark the occasion? An electronic music event of course. The ‘Hardware 30: True Faith’ Event, will take place in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane this December, and will boast a huge line-up of some of the biggest names in the genre.

Hardware has the honour of being the longest-running producer of electronic shows in Australia. In this time it has been an innovative force since the company was established by Richie McNeill (aka DJ Richie Rich) in 1991.  The mark Hardware has left embedded on the Australian music scene is undeniable and this 30-year celebration of Melbourne’s electronic music culture, will showcase the journey through the moments, people and sounds that shaped the Hardware we know and love today.

"During Covid I spent hours ploughing through photos, flyers and music, buried deep within 18 months of serious lockdowns.  Looking back, I am super proud of what we have achieved, putting Melbourne and Australia early on, at the forefront of a global movement.  I am beyond excited to share this birthday with our fans, new and old, and some of our favourite artists from the past, present and future.”Richie McNeill – Founder of Hardware

On NYE 1991, Richie McNeill and Hardware threw its first rave party at the Mercantile Rowing Club (on the banks of the Yarra River in Melbourne’s CBD).  It was a fundraiser for his father's charity which helped young kids throughout Victoria. Thirty or so years later, Richie has built Hardware into the icon responsible for so many of our favourite events. as well as putting Melbourne on the international music map.  Since the early 90s, Hardware has been the powerhouse behind numerous award-winning festivals including Apollo, Two Tribes, Stereosonic and now Festival X

The ‘Hardware 30: True Faith’ Event, will be the perfect celebration for Hardware with international heavyweights Richie Hawtin (Canada), Joseph Capriati (Italy), Victor Ruiz LIVE (Brazil), Sama' Abdulhadi (Palestine), DJ HMC + CJ Bolland LIVE (Belgium) + already announced on the lineup for what will most definitely be the party of the year.
